The Beauty of Elopements

What is an Elopement and 10 Reasons to Consider Eloping with Your Fiancé

An elopement or elopement wedding is a more intimate affair than a traditional wedding. It usually consists of just the couple, their officiant, and their photographer (who can act as a witness), or sometimes the couple may invite a few of their closest family and friends to their elopement.

Often, people associate an elopement with a spur-of-the-moment decision to help save money and escape any drama a wedding may create. More and more that is not the case. Elopements now are usually planned somewhat in advance to ensure they have the vendors needed (an officiant and photographer at a minimum), to the views the couple wants to get for their photos during their elopement. Some couples even hire a wedding planner if they want an adventure elopement.

10 Reasons to Elope:

  1. Your wedding day is much more intimate and private with just the two of you (or with your closest family)

  2. You can save money on your wedding day

  3. You have so many more, unique wedding ceremony locations to choose from - they are endless!

  4. You have the option to do a once-in-a-lifetime adventure elopement

  5. You can spend more money on your honeymoon with the money you saved by eloping

  6. You eliminate the stress of any drama or conflict occurring at or around your wedding

  7. You’ll cut down on the stress and overwhelm that traditional wedding planning can cause

  8. You’re not confined by the time restraints of venues or vendors

  9. You have more freedom to spend the day as you like with your partner

  10. You can have your photographer exploring with you on the day of your elopement for more natural, inspired, and authentic photos from your wedding day

  11. BONUS You don’t have to worry about a dress code. At your elopement, you can decide the best dress code for the two of you!

As elopements become more and more popular, wedding venues and resorts are starting to offer all-inclusive elopement packages that couples are taking advantage of. Elopement packages are designed to cut down on stress by offering all-inclusive convenience that often includes the location, decor, photography, flowers, cake, champagne, and more. These elopement packages are also very affordable as well.

Eloping allows you to essentially pick anywhere in the world to say “I do” while allowing you to save where you want to and to splurge where you want to. Eloping allows you to do what is right for you rather than worry and focus on what may be right for your family, friends, or anyone else you may be considering (or your parents are insisting) to invite to your wedding.

Your wedding day is about celebrating your love and lifelong commitment to your partner. If you choose to make that day more intimate and private, it is worth celebrating just as beautifully as if you did a traditional wedding.
